It’s morning at the blueberry farm. Mist still clings to branches, and light threatens to illuminate everything. Two friends are drawn into the gothic hush of the Pacific Northwest toward something buried in the soil.
That's the film we're making, this fall, in Olympia. Right now, we're asking our community to help us get there.
Meet the Creators
Candy Cobler
I’m a trans artist from/in Olympia. I write and make art in various mediums [including music, comics, and prose]. I love film and have written several screenplays, so when my brother asked me to write a cozy script for him to direct, I decided to set it at the blueberry farm where I work during the summers.
It didn’t take long for the story to take a more gothic turn, because I can’t make anything without making it a bit dark. The original intent of the film was to depict the orange warmth of being sheltered inside, but the wet and muddy world I call home took the story in its own direction, and I hope that juxtaposition is what will make our film stand out.

I was raised here in the PNW’s mountains and trees, seeking shelter from the rain by going indoors, under a blanket, home.
While I drink my tea, that same rain taps on the window and lulls me to sleep.
This film is about what happens when there is something out there, in the mud and the mist, and when there is someone you need to bring there.

Nosferatu Blue! Indigo Dye Workshop and Film Noir

Gothic atmosphere, handmade art, and community cinema, all in one spectacular event.
Join us for a full day of making and gathering, culminating in an outdoor screening of the 1922 classic Nosferatu under the open sky.
Starting at 4PM, participate in our Indigo Dye Vat Workshop — a hands-on, facilitated session where your creations become part of the film itself, woven into the set, costumes, and characters. ($50 pre-registration, 10–15 spots; drop-in welcome.)
At 8:30PM, settle in on the lawn with popcorn and a fire-ring for the film screening. $10–30 suggested donation, BYO chairs.
All day long: the Photo(blue)ooth + Potluck: bring a dish or donate $20–30, purchase prints.

We're filming this fall in Olympia: outdoors, in the mud and November’s waning light. We're looking for the right people to bring three characters to life, and for the crew to hold it all together.

A witch. A furry. She’s learned to make understandable pathways through the confusing world by writing spells, tomes, and tales and acting them out. Distrusting, especially of authority, and on the brink of completely letting someone in, finally.
Neurodivergent, guarded, full of contradictions and magic.

Patient. Careful. She makes space before she makes conversation. Casual cool: hoodies, local bands, jeans, never skirts. She follows someone's energy until she's made a home in it.

Wise. Experienced. Cool like a cowgirl, she saunters and never backs down from a challenge… and she’s getting old, and a bit lonely. She’s seen the world and faced it down, and the only thing that can make her bat an eye is an unexpected invitation to be a kid again.

You keep the day moving so the story can breathe. The AD holds the schedule, calls the shots (literally), and makes sure everyone on set knows where to be and when, freeing up Levi to focus on the vision. You're organized, calm under pressure, and good at translating a vision into a workable timeline.

You see the light before anyone else does. The DP shapes how this film captures the mood of a quiet PNW morning. We're looking for someone who can bring technical skill and a real point of view, and who's excited to build that look with Levi from the ground up.
